Charlotte, NC · ACCESS21

Visit website →

Access 21 is Charlotte and Mecklenburg County's public access television channel, operated by the Charlotte Mecklenburg Public Access Corporation (CMPAC), a private nonprofit incorporated in 2000 to run the channel on the Spectrum cable system.

CMPAC provides facilities and training for any county resident to create and air their own programming, with two HD studios, four digital editing suites, a podcasting studio, and a free orientation-to-production pathway open to the public. Programming airs on cable and streams online, and the organization has expanded into staff-led productions, an open mic series, and a relaunched Access 21 Podcast focused on community engagement.

Charlotteans who find their way to Access 21 discover an active creative space where residents produce talk shows, music showcases, community affairs programs, and anything else they want to say - noncommercial television where diverse voices and independent ideas find a local audience.
