What we collect
Community Media Voices collects information in two ways. First, when you submit a memory or contact us, we collect what you provide: your name, your email address if you give one, and the content of your submission. Second, the collection itself contains biographical information about people who worked in community media — names, roles, station affiliations, eras of activity, and submitted memories. Much of this describes people other than the visitor reading this page; our policies for that information, including how to correct or remove a record about you, are described in our Archive Policies, which we encourage you to read alongside this document.
We do not run advertising, sell data, or use tracking beyond the basic analytics our hosting provider supplies.
How it's stored
Submissions and collection records are stored in Airtable, a third-party database service. The website is hosted on Vercel. Contact form messages are delivered through Formspree and arrive as email. Each of these providers has its own security practices and privacy policies; we choose them for reliability and use them in standard configurations.
Third-party services
We use Formspree to deliver contact form submissions, Airtable to store collection records and memory submissions, and Vercel to host the site. No third-party advertising or social tracking scripts run on this site.
If you provide an email address with a submission, we use it only to follow up about that submission — to ask a clarifying question, confirm a correction, or respond to a removal request. We do not add submitters to mailing lists without separate, explicit consent, and we do not share email addresses with anyone.
Your choices
You may submit memories without an email address, though we won't be able to follow up. You may ask us to delete your submission, your contact information, or a record about you at any time through the contact page. If you are listed in the collection and wish not to be, see our Archive Policies — removal requests from living subjects are honored.
