About this hub
Access Humboldt is a nonprofit community media center based at the College of the Redwoods campus in Eureka, California, serving Humboldt County and the communities of Arcata, Blue Lake, Eureka, Ferndale, Fortuna, and Rio Dell under contract with the county and its member cities.
The organization manages five cable television channels - EDUC8, CIVIC10, AH11, and AH12 on Optimum Cable in the north and WAVE7 in southern Humboldt - plus community radio station KZZH-LP 96.7 FM, a podcast studio, and production equipment available to residents. It is also the founding partner of the Community Media Archive, a collaboration with the Internet Archive that now holds more than 2.1 million public media videos from centers across the country.
Humboldt County residents rely on Access Humboldt for county government coverage, local political commentary, and an active effort to amplify voices from Indigenous, Black, Latinx, and LGBTQIA+ communities through its Representation and Leadership Project.
