Houston MediaSource (HMS) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization established in 1987 that operates HMS-TV, Houston's public access cable television channel, and HMS Net Radio, serving residents of one of the largest and most diverse cities in the United States.

HMS-TV airs more than 8,500 educational, political, inspirational, and community programs annually - all original content produced by community members - broadcasting on Comcast, AT&T U-verse, and other Houston-area cable providers. Houston MediaSource provides residents with free media production training, access to cameras, lights, microphones, studios, and editing equipment, and a cable channel on which to air their programs, and also provides free television access to other Houston-area nonprofits and runs community outreach media education programs in after-school settings.

Houston residents from every neighborhood and background use HMS-TV to produce the programming that commercial television in America's fourth-largest city never makes room for - a genuine free-speech platform where the full diversity of Houston's communities, cultures, languages, and perspectives finds broadcast expression.
