About this hub
Austintown Community Television, now known as Falcon Media, is the school district-based community media program for Austintown, Ohio, a township in Mahoning County in the Youngstown metropolitan area.
Founded in 1980 as a joint project between the Austintown Trustees, the Austintown Local School District, and Armstrong Cable, the program has operated from Austintown Fitch High School and broadcasts on Armstrong Cable Channel 202 as an FCC-licensed educational station. Students produce and distribute content covering community events, sporting events, graduation ceremonies, school board meetings, and township government proceedings.
Austintown residents and school families know Falcon Media as the student-staffed operation that has covered Fitch Falcons sports, school milestones, and township meetings for more than four decades - a community media program where students learn broadcast skills while serving as the township's local television record.
