About this hub
Columbia Access Television (CAT) is the public access television channel for the City of Columbia, Missouri, a university city in central Missouri and home to the University of Missouri, formed in 2004 and operating the city's public access channel.
CAT operates on cable channel 85 in Columbia, with programming that is more than 80 percent locally produced, including a Locals-Only Primetime block and an archive of more than 1,450 original local programs available on demand and as podcasts. The organization has received national Alliance for Community Media awards for Overall Excellence in Public Access in multiple years, and is managed in partnership with Vidwest, a local media nonprofit.
Columbia residents and the city's large university and arts community use CAT to broadcast original programming on any topic, producing the kind of locally driven, free-speech community television that reflects life in a college town with a strong independent creative culture.
