About this hub
The DC Office of Cable Television, Film, Music and Entertainment (OCTFME) is the government agency that operates Washington DC's public, educational, and government access cable channels, regulates the District's cable television providers, and supports the creative economy of the nation's capital.
OCTFME manages three government access channels: the District Council Channel (DCC) covering DC City Council proceedings; the District of Columbia Network (DCN) covering executive branch activities and mayoral events; and the District Knowledge Network (DKN) providing educational and informational programming. The agency also operates DC Radio 96.3 HD4 and produces award-winning content on government activity, DC history, arts, music, and local culture for all eight wards of the District.
DC residents follow OCTFME's channels for City Council votes, mayoral announcements, and the locally produced programming that captures the culture and civic life of a city that is simultaneously a world capital and a neighborhood-based community with its own distinct identity apart from the federal government that surrounds it.
