About this hub
Davis Media Access (DMA) is a community media center serving Davis, California and surrounding Yolo County, founded in 1988 as Davis Community Television (DCTV) and grown into a multimedia organization operating television, radio, and community journalism initiatives.
DMA operates DCTV on Comcast Channel 15 as the public access television channel, partners with the Davis Joint Unified School District on Educational Access Channel 17, and operates KDRT-LP 95.7 FM as a low-power community radio station - the first LPFM launched within a public access media center in the country. The organization trains community members in video and radio production, archives government meetings and school performances, covers local elections and candidate forums, and in 2021 received the Alliance for Community Media's Overall Excellence award for small radio stations.
Davis residents - in a progressive, highly educated university city home to UC Davis - rely on DMA for the government transparency, school coverage, and community radio that reflect a city with unusually strong civic engagement, environmental values, and a long history of supporting local media.
