Open Media Foundation is a Denver-based nonprofit media and communications organization whose work grew out of community media, public access, and civic technology. The organization is closely connected to Denver Open Media, the community media project that operated Denver's public access channels and helped pioneer more participatory models of local media.

Today Open Media works with nonprofit organizations, governments, and media organizations on communications, engagement, accessible video, archives, captions, searchable meeting records, and digital media tools. Its current services extend the values of public access into civic transparency and nonprofit communication infrastructure.

Open Media Foundation belongs in CMV because it shows one path community media took as cable access funding and technology changed: from access channels and producer-led media toward digital civic engagement systems that still aim to make institutions more transparent and communities more connected.
