RevereTV

RevereTV is the public, educational, and government access media center serving Revere, Massachusetts. Established on June 1, 2008 as a nonprofit 501(c)(3), the organization manages and operates the City of Revere’s PEG access channels and provides media resources, training, channel time, and local production support for members of the community.

The organization grew out of Revere’s transition from a cable-run access center to a nonprofit community media organization. In its early years, RevereTV expanded from a smaller studio into a larger facility in the Citizens Bank Building, doubled its studio space, upgraded its control room, added production technology, and increased its ability to support local shows, arts programming, music, volunteer training, and producer-driven work.

RevereTV’s programming reflects the daily life and identity of the city it serves. Its local coverage includes public meetings, school and city events, high school sports, community celebrations, and signature Revere traditions such as the Revere Beach International Sand Sculpting Festival. Through programs like What’s Cooking, Revere and the RPS Ambassadors Cooking Series, the station also uses food and family stories to highlight the many cultures represented in Revere’s schools and neighborhoods.

RevereTV reflects the everyday civic value of community media: helping residents communicate, keeping local government and community events visible, and creating a public record of city life. Its COVID-19 survivor storytelling project with the City of Revere showed how a local access station can respond in a moment of crisis, giving residents a way to hear directly from neighbors while preserving community experience for the future.
