Public Access Television (PATV) of Iowa City is the community media organization that has served the Iowa City and Coralville area on Mediacom Channel 18 since 1979, providing one of Iowa's longest-running public access television operations for a progressive university city and Johnson County community.

PATV provides camcorders, editing facilities, a complete television studio, and trained staff to local residents and organizations who want to produce and broadcast noncommercial community programming, and operates an electronic Community Bulletin Board for local events and nonprofits. After 40 years of community television, PATV merged with Public Space One in October 2019 to continue its community media mission through digital, streaming, and podcast platforms while maintaining studio facilities.

Iowa City residents - in a university city with unusually high civic engagement, a strong independent arts and film culture, and a community that takes seriously its identity as a creative and politically active place - relied on PATV for the free-speech broadcast platform that gave the full range of Johnson County community voices a local television presence for four decades.
