About this hub
Lowell Telecommunications Corporation (LTC) is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit community media and technology center that has served Lowell, Massachusetts since 1995, providing public access television and media education for residents of this historic Merrimack Valley mill city with one of the most diverse immigrant populations in New England.
LTC operates three Comcast cable channels - Channel 8 (Local programming), Channel 95 (Global programming in multiple languages), and Channel 99 (Municipal/Government programming) - and offers training in studio production, camera operation, web design, and creative software. LTC's vibrant membership produces thousands of hours of original programming annually in many different languages, reflecting the city's communities from Cambodia and Southeast Asia to Brazil, Central America, and beyond.
Lowell residents - in a city where immigrant communities have transformed the cultural landscape for generations, from the original Irish and French-Canadian mill workers to today's large Cambodian, Latino, and African immigrant populations - rely on LTC as the only broadcast platform that speaks to the full multilingual community and lets every neighborhood in a deeply diverse city hear itself on television.
