About this hub
Brattleboro Community Television (BCTV) is a community media center serving eight towns in southern Windham County, Vermont, providing the only local television coverage for Brattleboro and its surrounding communities in this rural corner of the state near the New Hampshire and Massachusetts borders.
BCTV broadcasts on cable channels 1078 and 1079 reaching approximately 6,000 subscriber households across Brattleboro, Dummerston, Guilford, Jamaica, Newfane, Putney, Townshend, and Vernon via Comcast, with all programming also available at brattleborotv.org. The organization provides equipment, training, and production support to community members, with nearly half of all programming hours produced by local volunteers. BCTV has earned the Alliance for Community Media's Overall Excellence Award twice, in 2016 and 2018.
Southern Vermont residents know BCTV as the essential source for selectboard and school board meeting coverage, candidate forums, community events, lectures, and the kind of volunteer-produced local programming that reflects the progressive, engaged civic culture of the Connecticut River Valley region.
