About this hub
KMVT 15 Silicon Valley Community Media and Television is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit community media center that has served Mountain View, California and the surrounding South Bay communities since 1982, providing media literacy education, hands-on video production training, and public access broadcasting to hundreds of thousands of Bay Area residents.
Operating from Mountain View, KMVT 15 serves Los Altos, Cupertino, Sunnyvale, and Foster City in addition to its home city, offering studio facilities, production training, equipment access, and a cable channel on which community members can broadcast their programming. The award-winning organization has received multiple national and regional honors for its work in civic engagement, digital divide reduction, and media education across communities that include some of the most economically diverse populations in Silicon Valley.
Bay Area residents in the South Bay rely on KMVT 15 for the free-speech community television platform and media education resources that give voice to the full range of people living in one of the world's most technologically advanced - and economically unequal - regions, from tech workers to immigrant families navigating life in the shadow of Silicon Valley's wealth.
