Wide Angle Youth Media

Baltimore, MD · HFAM

Visit website →

Wide Angle Youth Media is a Baltimore nonprofit media arts education organization focused on youth voice, storytelling, and media literacy. Its programs help young people learn photography, video, design, journalism, and digital storytelling while creating work rooted in their own experiences and communities.

The organization works with Baltimore youth through paid and educational media programs that build creative skills, confidence, and pathways into school, career, and civic participation. Its work centers youth as producers, not just subjects, and uses media education to help young people communicate across cultural, generational, and social divides.

Wide Angle belongs in Community Media Voices because youth media has always been part of the access field's future. It shows how community media tools can help young people develop authorship, public voice, and agency in a media environment that often speaks about them rather than with them.
