Tia Price

Tia Price is a community organizer, youth media educator, and workforce development leader whose work has been rooted in Baltimore and the belief that young people should have the tools to tell their own stories. Through Wide Angle Youth Media, she helped mentor youth and young adults as they built media skills, explored identity and community, and connected creative production to college, career, and civic possibility. Her work reflects one of community media's most important promises: that media education can help young people see themselves as authors, producers, workers, and public voices.

Tia's contribution sits at the intersection of cultural equity, youth development, and community storytelling. At Wide Angle, that meant supporting young people not only in learning cameras, editing, design, and production, but in using those tools to describe Baltimore from their own perspective. In 2018, she received the ACM's Jewell Ryan-White Award for Cultural Diversity. Her place in the archive helps show how community media continues through youth media programs that build confidence, skill, representation, and the next generation of storytellers.
