About the station
Community Media Center of Carroll County (CMC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit PEG access organization serving Carroll County, Maryland, operating from a state-of-the-art facility in Westminster and linked by fiber optic cable to the county's eight municipalities, the county government, the board of education, and Carroll Community College.
CMC programs three local cable channels: Channel 19 for community-produced public access content, Channel 23 for municipal programming from all eight Carroll County municipalities, and HD Channel 1072 shared with Carroll County Public Schools, Carroll County Government, and Carroll Community College. The 2,000 square foot production studio features virtual set capabilities and robotic cameras for remote meeting coverage, and the center provides training, equipment, and facilities to individuals and organizations throughout the county.
Carroll County residents follow CMC for coverage of municipal meetings across Hampstead, Manchester, Mount Airy, New Windsor, Sykesville, Taneytown, Union Bridge, and Westminster, and use the center's production resources to create the community-focused programming that keeps this rural Maryland county connected to its civic and cultural life.
