Angela Harrer

Angela Harrer is a video production specialist with the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health and a member of the ACM Western Region board. Her work combines government video production in service of one of the country's largest public health agencies with community media field leadership through the western regional network. The Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health uses video and media to communicate public health information, reduce stigma, and reach communities across an enormous and diverse county.

Her ACM Western Region board service connects that public agency media work to the broader community media field, where government access channels and public agency communications share values around accessible, community-serving information.

Angela's career reflects the government and public agency end of the PEG spectrum, where video production serves civic communication and public health rather than entertainment, and where reaching people with accurate information can matter as much as any other media function.
