Leader/Executive
Debra Rogers
CEO, Falmouth Community Television
The Record
Debra Rogers is a community media executive whose career in the field began in 1982 and has been rooted in New England civic life ever since. Before joining Falmouth Community Television, she served as Founding Executive Director of Greenfield Community Television and as Executive Director of Brattleboro Community TV, building the organizational and production leadership experience she brought to FCTV when she became its Executive Director and CEO in 1996. At FCTV, she has helped guide the organization as a place where local government, schools, nonprofit organizations, residents, and producers can all find a public platform on Cape Cod.
Debra's work has extended well beyond Falmouth through sustained service with the Alliance for Community Media. She has served on the ACM National Board of Directors for 15 years, chaired the board from 2009 to 2012, returned to the board in November 2019, and has served on the Executive Board as President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary. She has also served on the ACM Northeast Region board since 1994. In 2006 she received the ACM Northeast Region's Chuck Sherwood Leadership Award, and in 2007 the national ACM's Buske Leadership Award, recognizing her contributions to the field at both the regional and national level.
Her work reflects the steady local and national leadership that helped carry community media through changing technology, shifting funding, and evolving public expectations. Her legacy is tied to the core promise of access: that local people deserve practical tools, welcoming spaces, and reliable ways to see and hear one another.
