Gerry Field

Gerry Field is a community media leader and the 1991 recipient of the ACM's Sue Miller Buske Leadership Award. The award recognizes demonstrated commitment to the mission of community media and sustained involvement at the national, regional, and local levels, placing Field among the practitioners who helped build the PEG access field during its expansion years in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

His work during that period contributed to establishing the professional infrastructure and local legitimacy that community media centers needed to survive and grow. The Buske Leadership Award that year reflected both his individual contributions and the broader work of a generation that turned public access television from a regulatory requirement into a field with shared standards and civic purpose.
