Jasiri Jenkins-Glenn

Jasiri Jenkins-Glenn serves as Director of Community Engagement at Pasadena Media, where he connects residents, nonprofits, civic institutions, and community organizations to the public, educational, and government access channels that Pasadena Media operates. His work is on the outreach and engagement side of community media operations, the part of the work that determines whether an open-access channel actually gets used by the people it was designed to serve or remains a largely invisible franchise obligation.

Pasadena Media's tradition of PEG access gives Jasiri's engagement work a concrete infrastructure to connect people to: studios, training, equipment, and channel time that become meaningful only when community members know they exist and feel welcomed into using them.

His work reflects one of community media's persistent practical challenges: the channels are open, but openness alone does not produce participation.
