The Record
Matt Belfiore has spent his entire professional career at HC Media, Haverhill's public access media center, joining the staff in 1996 and working his way from production roles to Director of Operations before being appointed Executive Director in June 2024. Over nearly three decades with the organization, he has been central to its growth and operations across three PEG channels: Public Access Channel 22, Education Channel 6, and Government Channel 8. He holds a Bachelor's degree in English from Salem State University and has also attended Northern Essex Community College.
A highly decorated community media producer, Belfiore is the recipient of two National Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors (NATOA) awards, nine Alliance for Community Media awards, and was nominated for two New England Emmy Awards in 2024. His work has spanned writing, producing, videography, and editing, and he created HC Media's flagship program The Haverhill Journal. He has been an active participant in industry advocacy, meeting with members of Congress to discuss PEG funding legislation and serving as an at-large member of the ACM Northeast Region board.
In the Haverhill community, Belfiore is known for extensive volunteer engagement with the Haverhill Exchange Club, the Greater Haverhill Chamber of Commerce, Northern Essex Community College, the Haverhill YMCA, Emmaus House, Opportunity Works, and numerous other nonprofits - representing the kind of deep civic embeddedness that characterizes community media leadership at its best.
