About this hub
BronxNet is a nonprofit public, educational, and government access cable television network serving the Bronx, New York, that went on air in July 1993 under a joint agreement between Cablevision and the City of New York, with studios at Lehman College and a second facility at Mercy University.
BronxNet broadcasts on six Optimum channels (67, 68, 69, 70, 951, 952) and six Verizon Fios channels (2133-2138), offering distinct programming blocks including BronxNet's signature community channel, BX Culture for multicultural and multilingual content, BX Inform for news and education, BX Inspire for faith-based programming, and BX Legacy for vintage BronxNet programming and hip-hop. The organization provides television production education and equipment access to Bronx residents, and runs a Training Program for Future Media Professionals that has served more than 3,000 high school and college students. BronxNet also operates the BX Podcast Network for original audio programming.
The Bronx - a borough with a powerful sense of identity and community - has used BronxNet for three decades to produce award-winning programming including Bronx Flavor and Bronx Currents, to train young media professionals, and to give Bronx voices a broadcast platform that reflects the borough's culture, concerns, and resilience.
