Chris Loos

Chris Loos is a media and music industry professional, community organizer, and founder of iDream Society, a Monrovia, California nonprofit established in 2021 to empower young artists and entrepreneurs through media access, leadership training, and creative arts programming. With more than 30 years in radio and broadcast, including a role in the relaunch of iconic Los Angeles FM station KDAY, he has brought professional media experience to community-facing work, volunteering at Kgem-TV, the local public access station, as a vehicle to amplify community voices. His iDream Society work has included producing programming through Community Media of the Foothills and receiving Hometown Media Award recognition for work including the series Young Dreamers and voter education programming. The ACM recognized him with the Jewell Ryan-White Award for Cultural Diversity in 2024.

His work reflects the connection between the music industry's tradition of community radio and the public access model: using media access as a ladder for young people who would otherwise have no entry point into creative and civic participation.

Chris's career is built on a single conviction, stated in his own words: be what you'd like to see in this world. The iDream Society is his most direct expression of that in community media terms.
