The Record
Dana Healy has spent her career in community media, beginning as a teenage meeting operator and growing into one of the field's most recognized operators, advocates, and technology leaders. She spent ten years at Danvers Community Access Television in Massachusetts, building her production and leadership experience before moving to Minnesota in 2018 to lead CTV North Suburbs. There, she helped rebrand and restructure the organization into NineNorth, a multi-city consortium serving nine north-suburban communities in the Twin Cities region.
In January 2022, Dana joined Tightrope Media Systems as Vice President of the Cablecast Community Media business unit, bringing her on-the-ground PEG experience to a company whose broadcast automation platform is used by hundreds of community media centers. In 2025, she was named Chief Operating Officer of Cablecast as the company formed a new executive leadership structure. During her time in Massachusetts, she also served on the Mass Access Board of Directors and completed certification through the Institute for Nonprofit Practice.
Dana's career reflects a generation of community media practitioners who moved fluidly between running stations, strengthening regional networks, and shaping the technology systems the field depends on. Her work connects practical station operations with larger questions of sustainability, automation, and how community media organizations adapt without losing their public-service purpose.
