Olelo Community Media · OLEL

President and CEO, ʻŌlelo

Roger McKeague is President and Chief Executive Officer of ʻŌlelo Community Media, Oʻahu’s nonprofit public, educational, and government access provider. Since 2021, he has led ʻŌlelo’s work to provide community members with accessible tools, training, and platforms for storytelling, civic engagement, and media literacy.

His leadership sits within one of the country’s major island-based community media systems. ʻŌlelo serves Oʻahu through cable, video-on-demand, online channels, media centers, production resources, youth programming, and training that help residents, schools, nonprofits, and public agencies tell local stories and share public information.

Roger’s work reflects the civic access role community media plays in Hawaiʻi: making public meetings and community issues visible, supporting locally rooted storytelling, and helping residents communicate without the barriers of traditional media. His service also extends into the national field through the Alliance for Community Media Board of Directors, where he represents ʻŌlelo Community Media for the 2025–2028 term.
