Rory O'Farrell

Rory O’Farrell is a community media leader based in Truckee, California, where he serves as General Manager of Tahoe Truckee Media. His work is rooted in educational and government access, supporting a regional media service that helps residents follow local government, school district activity, community events, and public affairs programming across the Tahoe Truckee area.

Rory has been part of Tahoe Truckee Media, formerly Tahoe Truckee Community Television, for more than a decade. His work connects station operations, local programming, public meeting coverage, streaming service, and regional community communication. Tahoe Truckee Media’s service area includes Truckee, Tahoe City, the West Shore of Lake Tahoe, and parts of Placer and Nevada Counties.

Beyond his local station leadership, Rory has contributed to the wider community media field through ACM Western States and national service. He has served on the ACM West Board, helped support the WAVE Awards, and was appointed to the Alliance for Community Media National Board in 2020. His work reflects the role of regional media leaders who keep local access service strong while also contributing to the field’s shared networks, standards, and public purpose.
