Ross Rowe

Ross Rowe is a longtime PEG access and community media leader whose career spans more than four decades of local television service, technical leadership, and field-building. He attended his first national Alliance for Community Media conference, then known as the NFLCP, in 1980 and remained deeply involved in the organization throughout his career. His work has included government access, public access, local production, regional leadership, and mentoring across the Midwest and national community media field.

At Elk Grove Television, Ross served as Multimedia Administrator and helped manage EGTV’s administration, production work, and community coverage for Elk Grove Village, Illinois. His work supported coverage of municipal government, village news, special events, local sports, community stories, and programming that helped residents stay connected to local life. Before EGTV, his career included PEG leadership and production roles in Mount Prospect, East Lansing, Fort Wayne, Ann Arbor, St. Louis, and Evanston, along with production work for larger broadcast and sports media organizations.

Ross’s contribution to community media extends beyond any one station. He served on ACM national and regional boards, helped found the Michigan ACM chapter, represented the Midwest Region, and was recognized with the ACM Sue Miller Buske Leadership Award in 2017. His career reflects the kind of institutional memory, generosity, technical skill, and peer leadership that helped community media centers learn from one another and keep local access service strong across generations.
